ChaptersThe Value of SAS International & SAS ChaptersThe chapters of the SAS, International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery, are an essential component in linking members throughout the world. SAS chapters are bringing the networking advantages of SAS affiliation within every member's reach. The SAS started adding chapters in 2004 with the KOSAS-Korean SAS Chapter. In 2007 we added the Chinese Chapter and we recently added the Middle East and India Chapters which both started in 2008. The purpose of the SAS chapters is to provide a local forum for your personal and professional development; provide an opportunity to network with your local spine community, gather information on how others are handling spine issues, various spine procedures and policies, build relationships and contacts with other spine professionals from your area. Membership in an SAS chapter is separate and apart from membership in the SAS. SAS ChaptersIf you are a member of one of the SAS Chinese, India, Korean or Middle East chapters, we encourage you to become a member of SAS! Please contact your local chapter to get a special membership application for a reduced fee for the SAS membership. Benefits of Being a Member in your Local SAS Chapter and SAS International?Membership in an SAS chapter means access to a local network of spine professionals in your community that can broaden your skills and make you more valuable to your organization. There are resources and services available through SAS that local chapters can’t possibly duplicate, and there are resources and services available through your local chapter that SAS can’t provide. Maximize your opportunities by becoming a member of SAS and your local chapter. It’s a winning combination!
